Wilson's 2020 tape made him the second pick. His first two seasons are the reason the word 'risk' belongs in any honest evaluation. Over 30 career games at BYU he completed 67.5% of his passes for 7,610 yards (253.7 per game) with 55 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, and 644 rushing yards with 15 rushing touchdowns added a scramble dimension at 214 pounds. But the year-by-year arc demands scrutiny. As a freshman in 2018, he managed 65.9% completion for 1,578 yards across 9 games with a modest 12:3 TD/INT split. His 2019 sophomore year was worse: 62.4%, 2,381 yards, and a troubling 11:9 ratio that would have buried his draft stock if not for what came next. Then 2020 happened. 73.3% completion, 3,651 yards, 304.2 per game, 32 touchdowns against 3 interceptions, 265 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns. The off-platform throws went viral. The question is which version is real, because the BYU schedule that year was not built to stress-test a franchise quarterback. R1.2 for a boom-or-bust arm talent whose junior-year explosion was as electric as any single season in this class but whose prior two years of mediocrity make the projection genuinely uncertain.
