Pre-draft scouting report
155 pounds. Tutu Atwell is the lightest wide receiver drafted in the second round in modern NFL history, and everything about his evaluation comes back to that number. Three years at Louisville produced a compelling stat line: 72.1 receiving yards per game across 32 games with 21 touchdowns and a 16.5 yards-per-reception average. The sophomore season was the peak at 98.2 yards per game with 5.4 receptions and 12 touchdowns across 13 games, but the junior year regressed to 69.4 in just 9 games as Louisville's offense struggled. 4.39 speed at 5'9" with a 33-inch vertical. Pure speed weapon who wins in space and on manufactured touches. Screens, jet sweeps, and schemed-up opportunities that leverage his quickness. The problem is durability: 155 pounds taking hits from NFL linebackers and safeties is a physical mismatch on the wrong side. Louisville featured Atwell as a chess piece, and the NFL will need to do the same. The fastest receiver in this class whose speed is undeniable but whose frame makes the second-round investment one of the highest-risk bets in this draft.
