Tremble played 18 games over two seasons at Notre Dame and caught 33 passes for 359 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those numbers tell you immediately that receiving production is not what got him drafted. He pulled in 16 catches for 183 yards and all 4 of his career touchdowns as a sophomore in 2019, then managed just 17 receptions for 176 yards with zero scores in 2020. Averaging 1.8 catches and 19.9 yards per game is essentially invisible in the box score. What the tape shows is a physical, aggressive blocker who played a significant role in Notre Dame's run game and was trusted in pass protection. The Irish have a pipeline of tight ends reaching the NFL, and the coaching staff used Tremble as an extra lineman more than a receiving weapon. At 10.9 yards per reception he was a short-area target on the rare occasions he was schemed into routes. Third-round capital for a two-year player with 33 career catches means the league is betting on tools and blocking, not production. R3.83 for a blocking-first tight end whose receiving ceiling depends entirely on development at the next level.
