McKee has the frame and arm of a franchise quarterback. At 231 pounds with a 33-inch vertical, he looks the part in every physical dimension. The college tape tells a different story. Across 23 games at Stanford, McKee completed 63.2% for 5,336 yards (232 per game) with 28 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, a 1.9:1 ratio. His 2021 debut as a starter was passable: 65.4%, 2,327 yards, 232.7 per game, 15 touchdowns, and 7 picks in 10 games. The 2022 follow-up went backward to 62.0% with only 13 touchdowns against 8 interceptions in 12 games at 245.6 per game. Negative-82 career rushing yards and 6 rushing touchdowns paint a picture of a classic statue in the pocket. Stanford's pro-style offense should have been the ideal incubator for an NFL-ready passer, but the regression from year one to year two is the opposite of what you want to see from a developmental prospect.
