Pure accuracy. Sanders posted a 71.6% career completion rate across 25 games at Jackson State and Colorado, the highest mark of any quarterback in this draft. His 2024 Colorado season was the headliner: 74.0% completion, 4,134 yards at 318 per game, 37 touchdowns against 10 interceptions. The 2023 debut was arguably more efficient with a 69.3% clip, 3,230 yards at 293.6 per game, 27 touchdowns, and only 3 picks. Career numbers read 7,623 yards, 304.9 yards per game, 65 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, a 4.6:1 ratio. The ball placement and processing speed are as clean as anyone's in the class. What Sanders cannot do is run. At 212 pounds with -132 career rushing yards and no combine forty, this is the most immobile quarterback on the board, period, though he did find the end zone 8 times on the ground (all short yardage). The small sample (only 24 FBS games across two seasons) and the Deion Sanders coaching variable make the projection tricky. R5.144 for a pocket passer whose accuracy and efficiency metrics are elite, but whose complete lack of mobility and limited FBS track record explain the fifth-round price tag.
