Sam Howell Dynasty Value
Sam Howell is ranked #379 overall on the Clutch Dynasty superflex PPR board and #421 in 1QB leagues, after Week 4 of the 2026 season. His value is steady this week.
Pre-draft scouting report
Howell walked in as a true freshman at North Carolina in 2019 and immediately produced at a high level: 3,641 yards, 280.1 per game, 38 touchdowns to 7 interceptions at 61.4% completion. That was the peak. His sophomore year in 2020 brought better efficiency (68.1%, 298.8 yards per game) but fewer touchdowns (30) across 12 games. Then the 2021 junior season saw the skill-position talent around him evaporate, and Howell responded by becoming a runner: 828 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns while his passing slipped to 254.7 yards per game with 24 touchdowns and 9 interceptions at 62.5% completion. The career line across 37 games is strong: 10,283 yards, 63.8% completion, 92 touchdowns, 23 interceptions (4.0:1 ratio), and 277.9 yards per game in the ACC. Add 1,009 rushing yards and 17 rushing scores and you have a genuine dual-threat profile. At 218 pounds with no combine forty on record, the athleticism reads well on tape but remains unverified by testing. The declining trajectory is the concern: Howell was at his best as a freshman surrounded by future NFL receivers and never quite matched that level again. R5.144 for a three-year ACC starter with legitimate production and dual-threat ability whose falling draft stock is a product of regression, not lack of talent.
