Sam LaPorta Dynasty Value

The latest tight end off Iowa's production line, and four years in Iowa City built a case through sheer volume. LaPorta put up 153 receptions for 1785 yards and 5 touchdowns across 39 games, starting as a role player with 15 catches in 6 games as a freshman in 2019 and growing into the offense's most reliable target by his junior and senior seasons. He caught 53 balls for 670 yards in 2021 and followed it with 58 for 656 in 2022, settling into a consistent 4 to 5 catches per game as a featured piece of a run-first attack. Career averages of 3.9 catches and 45.8 yards per game with 11.7 yards per reception. 245 pounds, 4.59 forty, 35-inch vertical. The number that stands out for the wrong reasons: 5 touchdowns on 153 career receptions, a 3.3% scoring rate that raises real questions about red zone usage. Iowa distributes its scoring opportunities, but that kind of ratio on that kind of volume is hard to explain away. R2.34 for a high-volume Iowa tight end whose catch totals are undeniable but whose near-total absence of scoring production creates genuine uncertainty about his fantasy ceiling.
