A five-year career at Michigan that produced limited receiving numbers by design. Schoonmaker caught 54 passes for 637 yards and 7 touchdowns across 22 games, barely appearing in 2019 with 2 catches before missing all of 2020 and then emerging with 17 receptions in 9 games in 2021. His senior year was the best: 35 catches for 418 yards and 3 touchdowns in 11 games, 3.2 catches and 38.0 yards per game as the third or fourth option behind a ground attack that dominated the Big Ten. 251 pounds, 4.63 forty, 33.5-inch vertical. The career averages of 2.5 catches and 29.0 yards per game are thin for a second-round pick, and the 11.8 yards per reception is functional but unspectacular.
