J.J. McCarthy Dynasty Value
J.J. McCarthy is ranked #177 overall on the Clutch Dynasty superflex PPR board and #220 in 1QB leagues, after Week 4 of the 2026 season. His value is down 24 this week.
Pre-draft scouting report
McCarthy won a national championship and never once looked like a quarterback who needed to carry his team. That is either the selling point or the red flag, depending on where you sit. In 40 games at Michigan, he completed 67.6% of his passes for 6,226 yards (155.7 per game) with 49 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The efficiency is pristine (4.5:1 ratio) but the volume is historically low for a first-round pick. Michigan ran the ball and played defense, and McCarthy managed that formula beautifully. His progression tells a story: from 57.6% and 46.9 yards per game as a freshman in 2021, to 64.6% and 194.2 per game in 2022, to 72.3% and 199.4 per game in 2023. Always more efficient, never more featured. He added 632 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns at 219 pounds, so there is some mobility. R1.10 for a quarterback whose ball security and efficiency are elite but whose 155.7 career yards per game makes this the biggest projection bet in the first round, banking on untapped upside the system never needed.
